Marvel confirms September 2026 re-release of ‘Avengers: Endgame’

Los Angeles, Dec 7 (UNI) Amid rising excitement for the next phase of the MCU, Marvel Studios has announced that ‘Avengers: Endgame’, the second-highest-grossing film of all time, will return to theatres in September 2026.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the re-release will arrive between two major upcoming Marvel titles: ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ and ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’, both slated for 2026. The next Spider-Man installment is set for July 31, 2026, while Doomsday will land in cinemas on December 18, 2026.
The beloved 2019 blockbuster will be back in theatres on September 25, 2026, though the duration of its theatrical window remains unclear.
Announcing the news, the Russo Brothers shared, “We can’t wait to share this with you on the big screen again… Avengers: Endgame is back in theatres September 2026.”
Originally released on April 26, 2019, Endgame served as the direct follow-up to Avengers: Infinity War and marked the 22nd film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, it featured an all-star ensemble cast including Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Paul Rudd, Brie Larson, Karen Gillan, Danai Gurira, and Josh Brolin, among many others.
The film earned USD 858 million domestically and USD 1.941 billion internationally, securing its place as one of the highest-grossing releases of all time.
Meanwhile, the upcoming ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, also helmed by the Russo Brothers, will bring Robert Downey Jr. back to the MCU, not as Tony Stark, whose arc ended in Endgame, but as the iconic villain Doctor Doom.
Other returning stars, according to Variety, include Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Paul Rudd, Tom Hiddleston, and Letitia Wright.
