It’s the pinnacle of working in our industry: Tom Holland responds to James Bond speculation

London, Aug 2 (UNI) British actor Tom Holland has gracefully addressed the swirling speculation surrounding his potential casting as the next James Bond, describing the iconic role as "the pinnacle of working in our industry" for any performer hailing from the United Kingdom.
With no official confirmation yet regarding the successor to Daniel Craig in the Amazon MGM Studios' rebooted Bond franchise, speculation remains rife, reports The Hollywood Reporter.
It is set to be helmed by "Dune" director Denis Villeneuve and penned by "Peaky Blinders" creator Steven Knight.
Alongside Holland, actors such as Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Tom Hardy have also emerged as favoured contenders. Pierce Brosnan, an 007 alum, told The Hollywood Reporter in June that Hardy would make for a “wonderful” lead. Earlier this year, Brosnan also gave his blessing for Taylor-Johnson.
When speaking recently with Gordon Ramsay, the Spider-Man star was asked about the Bond rumors. “Listen, there’s speculation at the moment. We’ll keep it to a minimum for now. We’ll get there one day,” he responded with a smile.
The celebrity chef then took a moment to seriously ask Holland, “Can you imagine what’s going to happen to your life if you do? First of all, you’d love that opportunity, right?”
And 'The Devil All the Time' actor replied, “I mean every young British actor, it’s the pinnacle of working in our industry. I already consider myself to be the luckiest kid alive. I could not have dreamed to have the career that I have.”
As far as what’s officially in the works for Holland, 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' begins production this month in England.
THR reported on Friday that Mark Ruffalo will reprise the role of Bruce Banner/The Hulk in the film. Holland’s fourth Spider-Man film is expected to swing into theaters July 31, 2026.
