CBI conducts raid at Delhi Dy CM Manish Sisodia's premises

New Delhi, Aug 19 (UNI) The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday raided Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia’s premises in an alleged excise policy case, the probe agency said.
Searches were being conducted on Friday at 31 locations including in Delhi, Gurugram, Chandigarh, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Lucknow and Bengaluru which, so far, led to recovery of incriminating documents/articles, digital records, CBI statement stated.
CBI has registered a case against Sisodia and others, including Arva Gopi Krishna (the then Commissioner (Excise), Anand Tiwari (the then Deputy Commissioner (Excise), Pankaj Bhatnagar (then Assistant Commissioner (Excise) and 10 liquor licencees, their associates and others on a reference from Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), it stated.
It was alleged that irregularities were committed including in modifications in Excise Policy, extending undue favours to the lincencees, waviver/reduction in licence fee, extension of L-1 license without approval, it added.
It was further alleged that illegal gains on count of these acts were diverted to concerned public servants by private parties and making false entries in their books of accounts. Investigation is underway.
