Jhansi hospital fire incident: Kharge demands strict legal action against guilty

New Delhi, Nov 16 (UNI) Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Saturday termed the death of 10 infants in Jhansi medical college in Uttar Pradesh as extremely painful and demanded thorough probe into the matter and strict action against the guilty.
In a post on X, Kharge said, "The news of the death of innocent children in an accident at the medical college in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, is extremely painful."
"Our deepest condolences to the families of the children who died in this heart-wrenching accident. May God give strength to the families to bear this sorrow," Kharge said.
We demand from the government that the cause of the accident be investigated and strict legal action should be taken against whoever is guilty of such negligence," the Rajya Sabha MP said.
Meanwhile, party general Priyanka Gandhi Vadra too expressed shock over the incident.
On her social media handle, X Priyanka Gandhi said, "Shocking news has come from Maharani Laxmi Bai Medical College, Jhansi, where 10 children have died due to a fire in the neonatal intensive care unit."
"Words of condolence and solace are futile in this time of great tragedy. We stand with the family and parents in this difficult situation," Vadra said.
