Vadodara/New Delhi, Oct 28 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Monday that he held productive discussions with the President of Spain Pedro Sanchez during which they took stock of the progress in bilateral ties across diverse sectors include trade and investment, IT and innovation, defence and security.
In a post on X, PM Modi said after the bilateral talks held in Vadodara at the Lukshmi Niwas Palace:
“In Vadodara, held productive discussions with the President of the Government of Spain, Mr. Pedro Sánchez. We took stock of the progress in India-Spain relations across diverse sectors. We wish to add even more momentum in our bilateral ties, especially in trade, commerce, culture, innovation, technology and more.”
The MEA spokesperson said in a post on X:
“A renewed momentum in India-Spain partnership.
“PM @narendramodi met President @sanchezcastejon in Vadodara today.
“The leaders held fruitful discussions on the entire spectrum of India-Spain ties including in areas of trade & investment, IT & innovation, defence, security, renewable energy, pharma, culture & tourism.”
Earlier, PM Modi and Spanish President Sanchez inaugurated the C-295 military transport aircraft facility in Vadodara, Gujarat, being built by Tata Advanced Systems team and Airbus Spain.
The Spanish President thanked PM Modi for the hearty welcome and the enthusiastic welcome during the roadshow in Vadodara.
“Thank you very much, dear @narendramodi, for your warm welcome and the hospitality of the people of Vadodara.
“It is an honour to make this first official visit to strengthen the excellent relations between our countries. And to do so on such an important date as Diwali.”
He said that Spain and India are moving forward by promoting industrial and technological collaboration.
“The @Airbus and @tataadvanced plant will be a symbol of industrial excellence, an engine of growth and a testament to the close and growing friendship between our countries,” he tweeted.
