Congress spreading false narrative to woo Muslim community: BJP

Congress spreading false narrative to woo Muslim community: BJP

New Delhi, April 29 (UNI) BJP MP Brij Lal on Monday slammed the Congress for "spreading false narrative" over the issues to take away reservation of SC, ST, and OBC.
Addressing a press conference in New Delhi, Lal said " Congress is doing religious appeasement and is extending reservation on the religious basis to woo the Muslim community"
He said the Constitution doesn't talk about the reservation based on religion, however, Congress has always been against the values enshrined in the Indian Constitution".
" Congress gave OBC reservation to one particular religion in Karnataka" he added.
Brij Lal's remarks came after Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh on Monday alleged that BJP has been trying to do away with the quota in education and jobs for the Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs) and Other Backward Classes (OBC).
BJP leader also attacked Congress over its allegation that "BJP is going to change the constitution" and said that, "It was under Congress rule when the maximum Amendments and changes were brought in the Constitution".
The issue came to light after a doctored video circulated on social media platforms showing Union Home Minister Amit Shah advocating for the abolition of reservation quotas for Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs), and Other Backward Classes (OBCs).
The video, which has sparked controversy and allegations of misinformation, has prompted the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) to file a complaint seeking action against those responsible for it.
