Ban sale of meat, liquor within 5 km of Sangam, say religious leaders

New Delhi, Jan 9 (UNI) Religious leaders have demanded a ban on public sale of meat and liquor within the five kilometre area of Sangam in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.
Coinciding with the auspicious Magh Mela period, Uttar Pradesh celebrates annual Maharishi Bharadwaj Jayanti.
The demand was raised after a call for Prayagraj to be declared a 'pilgrim site' was given by the religious leaders. Following Bharadwaj Jayanti, a procession was taken out by the saints, which reached the Ashram's Sangam Ghat.
