New Delhi, Jul 2 (UNI) "Earlier the cities came up along the national highways, now I want the cities to come up along the information superhighways where optical fibers are laid," Prime Minister Narendra Modi said at the launch of Digital India week here. Speaking at a spectacular launch ceremony here, Modi said Indians have proved their mettle in the field of IT and time has come to harness the talent in the form of Digital India mission. Enumerating the benefits of technology in a growing and ambitious nation, Modi said,"Day is not far when the entire government will be in your mobile phone." "e-Governance is going to convert soon into m-Governance," Modi said and quipped amid applause,"m-Governance does not mean Modi-governance. It is mobile-governance." But for that an infrastructure will have to be put in place, Modi said detailing the key initiatives taken by the government under Digital India mission. "Just why is that Google was not invented in India, just why is that all innovation take place outside, not in India?" he asked, exhorting the youth to get involved in 'Design in India' initiative.
