Firozabad (UP), Nov 9 (UNI) Five persons were killed, and 20 others were injured when a private bus rammed into a stationary truck in Nasirpur area of Firozabad district here in Uttar Pradesh, police sources said here on Saturday.
Police sources said that the incident took place late on Friday night when a family from Lucknow along with their relatives were returning back after performing the 'mundan' ceremony of their son from Mathura. "On Agra-Lucknow expressway the bus rammed into a stationary truck," they said.
After getting the information, the UEIDA team along with the local police and the injured were taken to the trauma centre in Firozabad district hospital and Shikohabad hospital. "Five persons were declared dead by the doctors. Sandeep Kumar, a resident of Mohinuddinpur in Lucknow, along with his relative had gone to Mathura to perform the 'mundan' ceremony of his son," they said.
Superintendent of Police (Rural) Akhilesh Kumar Bhadauria said that the private nus rammed into a stationary truck at milestone 49 on Lucknow expressway. "It has been revealed that the bus driver was in an inebriated state and the accident took place due to his fault. "Five persons have been killed in the accident and the injured have been admitted to Shikohabad hospital and district hospital Firozabad," he said.
He said that all victims were residents of Lucknow district. "While three deceased have been identified as Sandeep Kumar (32), Bitno Devi (40) and Mahadev (45), efforts are being made to identify a woman and a man, who lost their lives," he said.
