Rampur (UP), Mar 24 (UNI) Four persons, including three women, were killed and 11 others were injured when a tractor-trolley was hit by a dumper in Milak area of Rampur district here in Uttar Pradesh, police sources said here on Sunday.
Police sources said that around 20 people from Masihabad village under Mirganj police station in Bareilly district had gone to attend a function in Rampur. "While they were returning back to Mirganj late on Saturday night the tractor ran out of diesel near Navadiya village," they said.
Police sources said that the tractor driver Vikram Yadav parked the vehicle on the roadside and went to take diesel. "In the meantime, a dumper hit the stationary truck killing four persons on the spot and injuring 11," they said.
Police sources said that the deceased have been identified as Kavita (20), Tinku (18), Ramvati (40) and Savitri (30). "11 persons, including Yograj (55), Arti (46), Anjali (13), Raman (7), Sonakshi (9), Sonu Yadav (20), Anjana (45), Manju (40) and Ankul Yadav (14)," they said.
Police sources said that the injured have been admitted to a hospital in Bareilly. "The bodies have been sent for postmortem examination. The dumper driver escaped from the spot after the incident," they said.
