Officials make arrangements for winter weather: Hamirpur DC

Hamirpur Nov 27 (UNI) Deputy Commissioner cum Chairman of District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) Amarjit Singh has instructed all SDMs of the district and other officials to make necessary arrangements to deal with any kind of emergency during the winter season.
The Deputy Commissioner gave these instructions during a meeting with the district officials to review the preparations of the district administration and DDMA for the winter season. He said that during this season there is less risk of natural calamity in the district, but many times emergency situations arise due to fire, falling of trees or other accidents due to dense fog.
Teams of firemen, home guards, police and other volunteers should be ready at all times for any kind of emergency. The Deputy Commissioner also issued guidelines to the officials about electricity, road, drinking water, mobile network and all other essential services. He said dangerous trees around power lines, buildings and roads should be removed immediately.

Haryana allows gram panchayats to lease land to self-help groups for dairy projects

Panchkula, Jun 16 (UNI) The state government has amended the Haryana Village Common Lands (Regulation) Rules, 1964, empowering Deputy Commissioners to approve the leasing of Gram Panchayat land of up to 500 square yards to Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and cooperative societies of SHGs for setting up dairy units.
