UP Police arrest former Junior Engineer in Rs 83 lakh Sarayu drainage scam

Lucknow, Nov 4 (UNI) The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Uttar Pradesh Police on Tuesday arrested former Junior Engineer (JE) Haridutt Mishra, accused in the infamous Sarayu Drainage construction scam in Gonda district, officials said.
Mishra was apprehended from the Sarojininagar area here following a tip-off
. According to EOW officials, Mishra is accused of embezzling around Rs 83.54 lakh by preparing fake quotations and fabricated supply documents for cement procurement under the Sarayu Drainage Division-I project.
