Dehradun, Apr 19 (UNI) Uttarakhand has witnessed an average voter turnout of 24.83 per cent for five Lok Sabha seats till 11am on Friday,
Excluding the Nainital constituency, voting percentages in the other four constituencies have surpassed those of the 2019 elections within the same timeframe, which recorded 23.59 per cent turnout by Friday midday.
According to the state's Chief Electoral Officer, Vijay Kumar Jogdande, by 11 a.m., Tehri Garhwal district saw a 23.23 per cent voter turnout compared to 15.32 per cent in the previous polls.
Pauri Garhwal has witnessed a 24.43% turnout so far, compared to 23.94% in the last elections.
Almora and Pithoragarh constituencies have seen 22.21% and 26.46% voting, respectively, as opposed to 22.81% and 28.60% previously.
In the Haridwar region, the voter turnout stands at 26.47%, slightly higher than the 25.58% recorded in the initial two hours of the 2019 elections.
