Allahabad HC junks petitions opposing merger of schools by UP govt

Lucknow, July 7 (UNI) In a major relief to the state government, the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court today rejected the petitions filed against the merger of 5,000 primary schools in Uttar Pradesh.

The court justified the government's decision and said that this decision is in the interest of children. In such cases, policy decisions cannot be challenged, unless it is unconstitutional or malicious, the order said.

Shimla police arrest two Haryana men for school director murder, weapons recovered

Shimla, June 15 (UNI) Shimla district police on Monday arrested two alleged contract shooters from Haryana and recovered the weapons used in the sensational murder of a private school director within 40 hours of the crime. The motive for the killing is yet to be established.

Six relatives from Haryana killed in dumper-car collision near Bikaner

Jaipur, Jun 15 (UNI) As many as six members of related families of Fatehabad, Haryana, were killed in a massive collision between a dumper and a car on the outskirts of Sri Dungargarh town of Bikaner district in Rajasthan on Monday afternoon.
The accident took place on National Highway no: 11 while the dumper, heading for Bikaner, almost ran over the car approaching from Bikaner.

Haryana: Five arrested in 2 separate cyber fraud cases in Gurugram

Panchkula, Jun 15 (UNI) The Haryana Police has arrested five people, including two women, in two separate cases of alleged cyber fraud in Gurugram, including one accused who allegedly provided his bank account to a cyber fraud syndicate and four others involved in a scam that duped a victim on the pretext of increasing his credit card limit.
