Srinagar, Dec 11 (UNI) A suspicious object found in north Kashmir’s Handwara sub-district was destroyed on Wednesday morning, officials said.
They said a suspicious object was found along Langate Handwara road by the security forces, following which the area was cordoned off and traffic was halted.
Following the discovery, a Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) was called which destroyed the suspicious object.
It was not immediately known whether the suspicious object was an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) or something else.
On December 9, a major terror incident was foiled after security forces detected and destroyed an IED in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
The IED was recovered at Palpora Palhallan along the Srinagar Baramulla highway, which was later destroyed in a controlled way.
