Kerela House beef raid: Delhi police's action not malafide, says SIT

New Delhi, Dec 1(UNI) The Special Investigation Team probe into the controversial Kerala house beef raid in October revealed that the police action was without any 'Mala fide intention' and was aimed at maintaining law and order, Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) said here today. "The police action in Kerela house beef raid was without any mala fide intention. The action was aimed at ensuring that a law and order situation does not arise at Kerala House" said a statement submitted by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) in the Lok Sabha. In October, nearly 20 police officials had gone to Kerala House after Vishnu Gupta, a Hindu Sena leader complained that the canteen at the state guest house was serving beef. The issue had hogged limelight for many days with Delhi police winning bouquets as well as brickbats over its action. The Kerala chief Minister had strongly criticised the police action. Delhi Police Chief B.S. Bassi had defended the raid on Kerala House, saying that the police acted only to keep the law and order and avoid untoward incidents. UNI AP JN 1733
