Life returns to normal in Shopian after three-day strike

Srinagar, Mar 1 (UNI) Life returned to normal in Shopian villages after three-day strike, while business and other activities came to halt in some parts of Pulwama, where two Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) militants were killed by security forces in an encounter. Official sources said shops and business establishments reopened in Turkawangan, Shermal and Haff-Shermal and adjoining areas in south Kashmir, where people observed strike after two local HM militants militants Ashiq Husssin Dar and Shabir Ahmad Ganie, both residents of Turkwangan, were killed and four security personnel, including an officer, were injured in an encounter on February 24 and 25. Traffic was also plying on all routes normally. However, life was today affected at Momenabad, Tral, and adjoining areas in Pulwama district, where two HM militants Idrees Ahmad Shah and Shabir Ahmad Mir were killed in an encounter by security forces during the intervening night of February 27 and 28.
