Severe weather in Colombo diverts five flights to Thiruvananthapuram

Thiruvananthapuram, Nov 28 (UNI) Severe weather in Colombo early Friday led to the diversion of five international flights to Thiruvananthapuram International Airport.
The diverted flights included Etihad Airways flight EY394D from Abu Dhabi, which landed at 03:44 hrs, AirAsia flight AK047D from Kuala Lumpur at 04:37 hrs, SriLankan Airlines flight UL218D from Doha at 07:44 hrs, UL226 from Dubai at 07:55 hrs, and IndiGo flight 1185D from Mumbai to Colombo, which arrived at 09:49 hrs.
Thiruvananthapuram airport authorities managed the unexpected influx of flights efficiently, ensuring smooth operations. The weather situation in Colombo is being monitored closely with authorities coordinating with airlines to manage potential further disruptions.
