Hyderabad, February 5 (UNI) The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Telangana apprehended a Sub-Inspector and a private individual on Sunday evening while they were caught accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000.
At 18:45 hours on Sunday, the accused officer (A0-1), D Suresh, Sub-Inspector of Police at Mohammadabad Police Station, Mahabubnagar District, demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs 20,000 through (A0-2) Md. Ism., PC 3508, and (AO-3) Md. Moosa, a private individual, from the complainant Cherla1colla Krishna Reddy of Pagidyal in the same district. The bribe was solicited to refrain from harassing the complainant and his family members, specifically related to the younger son, Ch. Srinivas Reddy, who was involved in Cr. No. 12/2024, U/s. 417, 420 IPC of Mohammadabad PS in Mahabubnagar District and to secure his release on bail, as stated in the ACB statement on Monday.
The tainted bribe amount was recovered from the possession of A-3, and chemical tests on both hand fingers of A-3 yielded positive results. A.0-1 & A.0-2 were found to have improperly and dishonestly performed their duties to gain undue advantage.
