Telangana: ACB traps inspector accepting Rs 1 lakh bribe

Hyderabad, June 22 (UNI) The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Friday apprehended Akula Venkatesham, Inspector of Police at Suraram Police Station within the Cyberabad Commissionerate, for accepting a bribe of Rs 1 lakh.

At 1815 hours on Friday, ACB officials from the Rangareddy Unit caught Venkatesham red-handed while he was accepting a partial bribe amount of Rs 1 lakh from complainant Ratnakaram Sai Raju of Gajularamaram Village, Quthbullapur Mandal, Medchal-Malkajgiri District. The total demanded bribe was Rs 5 lakh, which was intended to allow the complainant to carry out development work on his land located in Gajularamaram Village.
