Telangana: ACB catches TGSPDCL Assistant Engineer accepting Rs 10,000 bribe

Hyderabad, Nov 27 (UNI) The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Tuesday caught an Assistant Engineer of the Telangana State Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (TGSPDCL) while accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000.
According to an official ACB statement on Wednesday, the accused officer (AO-1), Bal Ram Naik, Assistant Engineer (Operations) of TGSPDCL, Ghatkesar Mandal, Medchal-Malkajgiri District, was caught red-handed at 1445 hours by the ACB Ranga Reddy Unit. The bribe was accepted through a mediator (AO-3), identified as B Mahesh of Yamnampet.
Another accused officer (AO-2), B Hemanth Naik, Line Inspector of TGSPDCL in the same division, had also demanded Rs 5,000 as a bribe from the complainant. The bribes were solicited in exchange for approving line clearance (LC) for shifting an 11 KV wire from an old pole to a new one, connecting the line, and installing a side arm on another pole.
