IIT Hyderabad Director inspires students with talk on popular science and innovation

Hyderabad, Dec 2 (UNI) Dr B S Murthy, Director of IIT Hyderabad, delivered an inspiring lecture on “Popular Science and Innovation in Technology” at GITAM (Deemed to be University), Hyderabad, on Tuesday as part of the 167th birth anniversary celebrations of Acharya Jagadish Chandra Bose.
Dr Murthy highlighted the wide-ranging contributions of J C Bose, noting that his genius spanned biology, microwaves, and early telecommunications. He urged students to draw inspiration from Bose’s relentless curiosity, reminding them that innovation has no boundaries.
He linked scientific progress to India’s vision of Viksit Bharat and Atmanirbhar Bharat, emphasising the need to strengthen the country’s technology and product-development ecosystem. India, he said, has made major strides in research, missile technology, and atomic energy, often in the face of technology denial.
