LS Polls: Cong, BJP faceoff for second phase in Karnataka tomorrow

Bengaluru, May 6 (UNI) Less than a fortnight since the first political skirmish, Karnataka braces itself for another electoral spectacle as the Congress and BJP gear up for the second phase of election across 14 Lok Sabha constituencies scheduled for Tuesday.
In what promises to be a riveting showdown, the ruling Congress and the BJP will engage in a battle for supremacy in the parliamentary segments nestled within the northern districts of the state. The absence of the JD(S) from these contests, extending its support to its National Democratic Alliance (NDA) counterpart, the BJP, adds a strategic dimension to the electoral landscape.
Having navigated through the first phase of polling on April 26, which predominantly covered southern and coastal districts, the political stage is now set for the second phase, featuring 227 candidates—comprising 206 men and 21 women—vying for victory.
