Hyderabad, May 13 (UNI) An approximate voter turnout of 61.16 percent was recorded till 5 pm on Monday in the fourth phase election for 17 Lok Sabha seats in Telangana.
Polling which began at 7 am, will end by 6 pm, barring at a few places where it will conclude two hours earlier.
Polling across the 17 Parliamentary Constituencies and the byelection to the Cantonment (Secunderabad) Assembly seat is reported to be peaceful, with the police making elaborate security arrangements.
According to an Election Commission data, the highest voter turnout of 72.34 percent each was registered in Bhongir and Medak parliamentary constituencies followed by Zahirabad (71.91 %), Khammam (70.76%), Nalgonda (70.36 %) while Hyderabad Parliament Constituency recorded the lowest voter turnout of 39.17 per cent.
In the 2019 Lok sabha election, the state had recorded 62 per cent voter turnout. The Bharat Rashtra Samithi won nine out of the 17 seats, followed by BJP with four, Congress with three seats and MIM with one seat.
For the by-poll for Secunderabad assembly Constituency , 47.88 per cent voter turnout was recorded till 5 PM.
State Chief Electoral Officer Vikas Raj had earlier said that initially, we will only get estimated figures of polling, but the final figure of voting percentage will be given the next day.

The incident occurred at Nehru Nagar polling station in Aswaraopet mandal in the district
No major incidents were reported from anywhere in the state during the voting process so far.
