Yashoda Hospitals performs India's first pulmonary thrombectomy, saves 20-year-old's life

Hyderabad, Nov 29 (UNI) Yashoda Hospitals achieved a medical milestone by performing India's first-ever Pulmonary Thrombectomy using the state-of-the-art Inari medical device, saving the life of 20-year-old Mali Rishikesh from Karimnagar.
A hospital statement here on Friday said that Rishikesh was admitted in critical condition with a pulmonary embolism, a life-threatening condition where blood clots blocked the pulmonary artery, cutting off blood flow to the lungs.
A multidisciplinary team of doctors, led by Dr C. Raghu, Senior Interventional Cardiologist, used Inari Medical’s Triever 24 Catheter to remove the clots. The procedure restored blood flow and prevented long-term lung damage.
