Stone lays for Rs 13.55 Cr 400 meters synthetic athletics track for JNTUK

Kakinada, Jan 28 (UNI) MP Vanga Geeta Viswanath laid the foundation stone for the construction of a 400-meter synthetic athletic track (8 lanes) in the JNTUK sports stadium premises here on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, she said both the state and central governments were top priorities for the promotion of sports along with education. She claimed that CM Jaganmohanreddy was encouraging people to participate in sports by initiating programs such as the CM Cup and Adudam Andhra. Vice chancellor Prof. GVR Prasadaraju, who was the guest of honor, said that the 400-meter synthetic athletics track of 8 lanes was sanctioned due to the cooperation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Sports Minister Anurag Tagore.
He said a synthetic athletics track was sanctioned ten years ago to Acharya Nagarjuna University, and now the JNTUK is the second to have such a facility.
