Welfare schemes to come into effect from Nov 1: Kerala Minister Balagopal

Kasaragod, Oct 31 (UNI) Kerala Finance Minister KN Balagopalan has said the newly-announced welfare schemes will come into effect from November 1, with orders already issued.
He was speaking while inaugurating the Women Investors Meet and Export Workshop B@B Meet at Kanhangad, on Friday.
Minister Balagopalan said government assistance will reach 62 lakh people through welfare pension, 32 lakh women as security pension and 5 lakh youths as scholarship, with support reaching up to Rs 7,000 per household.

3-year-old child gang raped, murdered, Oppn parties condemn

Chennai, June 15 (UNI) In a shocking incident, a three-and-a-half year old child was allegedly gang raped and murdered near SIPCOT Industrial Estate at Gummidipoondi in neighbouring Tiiruvallur district of Tamil Nadu on Sunday evening
Police sources said one person was arrested in this connection.
