CBI Court sentences two persons to 3-year rigorous imprisonment with Rs 33.84 lakh fine

Kochi, Dec 20 (UNI) The Special CBI Court, Union Territory of Lakshadweep, Kavaratti, convicted & sentenced two accused including S.K.S Yadav, then Director of Education, UT of Lakshadweep(UTL) and Ganesh ( a private person) to undergo RI for a period of 3 years and pay a total fine of Rs 33.84 lakh for the offences related to corruption.
The instant case was registered by CBI on June 29,2006 against S.K.S. Yadav, then Director of Education, UT of Lakshadweep, Kavaratti, and others on allegations of corruption.
It was alleged that S.K.S. Yadav, the then Director of Education, UTL entered criminal conspiracy with private persons including K. Ganesh in the matter of supply of uniforms to school children of Lakshadweep.

Bengaluru, Feb 7 (UNI) State BJP President Vijayendra Yediyurappa on Friday said while the Karnataka High Court has refused to order a CBI probe into the MUDA case, it has not exonerated Chief Minister Siddaramaiah or his family.
Speaking to reporters, Vijayendra stated that Snehamayi Krishna, a social activist, had moved the Karnataka High Court, seeking a CBI investigation into the case.
