Siddaramaiah presses PM Modi for AIIMS, irrigation Clearances

Bengaluru, Nov 17 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Monday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and submitted a five-point memorandum urging swift action on several long-pending demands of the state.
The demands include clearance for major irrigation projects, approval for setting up an AIIMS in Raichur, revision of sugar MSP, and the release of overdue Central funds under the Jal Jeevan Mission.
Siddaramaiah sought the Prime Minister's intervention to secure clearances for key irrigation schemes such as the Balancing Reservoir Project, the pending Gazette Notification before the Krishna Water Disputes Tribunal-2, and the release of ₹5,300 crore for the Upper Bhadra Project as announced in the union Budget 2023-24.
