Andhra: Congress assures Rs 5000 to eligible poor families if voted to power

Anantapur (Andhra), Feb 26 (UNI) All India Congress Committee (AICC) President Mallikharjun Kharge on Monday pledged that his party would provide Rs 5000 as allowance to every eligible poor family in Andhra Pradesh if voted to power in the coming Assembly election..
Addressing a public meeting here, Kharge said that he was in Andhra Pradesh not for the rich but for the poor. “I am here to tell the people about an ideal welfare scheme which the Congress wants to launch for the poor in Andhra Pradesh. If the Congress is voted to power, Rs 5000 will be given to every eligible poor family under the 'Indiramma Abhayam' scheme. We will implement the scheme at any cost,” the AICC president announced.
Kharge alleged that the NDA-led Central government had not extended due funds to AP for the development. A grave injustice was meted out to AP by the Modi-led Centre, he lamented.
