Speculation grows about Karnataka cabinet reshuffle

Bengaluru, Nov 28 (UNI) The visit of Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and his deputy DK Shivakumar to New Delhi has sparked fresh speculation about a possible Cabinet reshuffle in the state.
As the two Congress leaders continue their discussions in the national capital, several party figures in the state have weighed in on the ongoing talks about changes in the Cabinet.
Senior Congress leader Satish Jarkiholi commented on the ongoing talks about a possible Cabinet reshuffle, saying, "There are discussions that it could happen, although I’m not certain about the timing. There are reports indicating potential portfolio changes, but the specifics remain unclear. These discussions are happening, but I haven’t made any personal requests. Ultimately, the high command will decide who is assigned what."
Jarkiholi remarked that it was possible the leadership was dissatisfied with some ministers, or they might opt to retain the current team without any changes.
Home Minister G Parameshwara said he was unaware of any plans regarding a Cabinet reshuffle. He mentioned that it was the chief minister's prerogative to make such decisions and that Siddaramaiah would consult the Pradesh Congress Committee president before proceeding.
Parameshwara added that this process had always been followed and that the final decision would be made in consultation with the high command.
Dinesh Gundu Rao, another senior leader, noted that a reshuffle after two years could be beneficial, saying, "A reshuffle after two years would allow others to step into leadership roles. Perhaps this is what has been suggested— it’s not just about maintaining the current ministers; others should also be prepared for the opportunity."
The discussions and the ongoing visit to New Delhi have heightened anticipation surrounding potential changes in the Cabinet, with party leaders awaiting the high command’s decision. UNI BDN SSP
