Mechanised inland vessels unfit for service will be dismantled: Kerala Maritime Board

Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 10 (UNI) The Kerala Maritime Board has announced that mechanised inland vessels that do not comply with safety guidelines and are found unfit for service will be seized and dismantled.
“The deadline for applying for the registration and survey of mechanised inland vessels in Kerala has been extended till August 31. All mechanised vessels must complete the registration and survey procedures without fail,” the Board said in a release.
All vessels, including houseboats, without a registration certificate and not complying with safety guidelines will be fined, while those found unfit for service will be seized and dismantled, it added.
