Parveen's suspension opens door for Lamboria in Paris 2024 quest

Bengaluru, May 19 (UNI) In a significant development, Commonwealth Games bronze medallist Jaismine Lamboria is set to represent India in the women's 57kg category at the second World Olympic Boxing Qualification Tournament in Bangkok commencing this Friday.
This opportunity emerged after the Boxing Federation of India (BFI) declined the Olympic quota initially secured by Parveen Hooda in the women's 57kg category at the previous Asian Games.
The withdrawal followed Parveen's suspension by the International Testing Agency (ITA) for whereabouts failures, leading to a 22-month suspension imposed by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) on Friday.
