Rafa Marquez set to take charge of Mexico after 2026 World Cup

Mexico City, Dec 10 (UNI) Rafael Marquez will take over as manager of Mexico's national team after next year's FIFA World Cup, the head of the country's football federation said.
Ivar Sisniega told media that incumbent manager Javier Aguirre would depart following football's showpiece event, which Mexico will co-host alongside the United States and Canada next June and July. The tournament will run from June 11 to July 19.
"Rafa Marquez's role as an assistant coach ends after the World Cup, at which point he will become head coach," Sisniega told reporters. "We have already had meetings, and it's a plan that is in motion."
