Ranji Trophy 2025-26: Record-breaking Akash stars with fastest first-class 50, 6 sixes in an over

Shillong, Nov 9 (UNI) Meghalaya’s Akash Kumar Choudhary etched his name into the history books of cricket after becoming only the third batter to hit six sixes in an over in first-class cricket on Sunday on the second day of the Ranji Trophy 2025-26 plate group match against Arunachal Pradesh in Surat, Gujarat.
The 25-year-old right-hander turned the match into a spectacle, swatted Limar Dabi for six maximums, following in the footsteps of Garry Sobers and Ravi Shastri. Akash surpassed England’s Wayne White, who held the previous record with a 12-ball fifty for Leicestershire against Essex in 2012.
