Mumbai, Dec 9 (UNI) Rahul Narvekar, who was elected unopposed as the Speaker of Maharashtra Assembly on Monday, assured the Opposition that he will give equal opportunity to the members of the Opposition to raise their voice in the house.
After assuming the post of Speaker, Narvekar said that "even if the picture in this Legislative Assembly today is in favour of the ruling party since there are 237 MLAs of the grand alliance, I assure this House that I will give equal opportunity to all the 288 members of the Legislative Assembly."
"Even if the number of Opposition is less, the voice of their members will not be suppressed, it will be my responsibility," he added.
