Around 6,000 teams deployed for vehicle inspection before election: EC

Mumbai, Nov 12 (UNI) Ahead of the Maharashtra Assembly elections, survey teams have been deployed across Maharashtra to ensure adherence to the model code of conduct.
The Chief Electoral Officer's office on Tuesday reported that 6,000 teams are currently checking vehicles and seizing suspicious items, with over Rs 500 crore worth of illegal assets seized thus far.
According to the model code of conduct applicable during elections, political parties and candidates should not induce any kind of inducement in the voters.

Pune, Jan 14 (UNI) Night temperatures were markedly above normal (5.1°C or more) at isolated places over Bihar, Madhya Maharashtra; appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at many places over east Uttar Pradesh; at a few places over Kerala and Mahe; at isolated places over Arunachal Pradesh,Assam, Meghalaya, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Rayalaseema, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal; above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at many places over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Telangana, Marathwada, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh; at a few places over east Madhya Pradesh, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam; at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, west Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat Region.
