Mumbai, May 7 (UNI) An estimated 42.63 per cent of over 2.09 crore electorates in 11 parliamentary
constituencies of Maharashtra cast their votes in third phase Lok Sabha elections till 1500 hours on Tuesday amidst tight security.
These constituencies are scattered in Western Maharashtra, Konkan and Marathwada regions of the state.
As per sources in Election Commission, the highest polling of 51.51 per cent was recorded in Kolhapur LS constituency, followed by Hatkangale-49.94 pc, Ratnagiri-Sindhudurg-44.73 pc, Latur-44.48 pc, Satara-43.83 pc, Raigad-41.43 pc, Sangali-41.30 pc, Osmanabad-40.92 pc , Solapur-39.54 pc, Madha-39.11 pc and Baramati-34.96 pc.
There are 258 candidates in fray in 11 LS seats.
Barring a few incidents of glitches in EVMs, clashes between ruling and opposition party workers at some places and complaints of distribution of money, polling continues in a peaceful manner with no major untoward incident being reported so far, sources added.
