Free vehicle  facility to transport disabled and senior  voters to  polling:EC

Mumbai,Nov 19 (UNI) Voting will be held in ten assembly constituencies of Mumbai city district on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 from 7 AM to 06.00 PM .
As per the Election Commission's announcement, 'No voters to be left behind', Mumbai city district administration has provided free vehicle facility to transport disabled and senior citizen voters to the polling station on the polling day, informed Mumbai City Collector and Additional District Election Officer Sanjay Yadav through media statement on Tuesday.
Disability Coordination Officers have been appointed for free bus travel in each Assembly Constituency for the convenience of disabled voters. For free bus facility, BEST has prepared a route plan for each Assembly Constituency according to the fixed location of the polling station.

A QR code has been created for voters to get coordination officer and route plan (route plan) with one click.
Yadav has appealed to disabled and senior citizen voters in the district to take advantage of this service and exercise their right to vote.
The Election Commission of India has issued guidelines regarding facilities for disabled voters and senior citizen voters above 85 years of age.

Instructions has been issued to officials to provide facilities to the disabled and senior citizens at the polling station. According to this directive, the polling day has been strictly planned through the Mumbai city district election system and special facilities have been made available for disabled and senior citizen voters, added Jadhav.
