Mumbai, Dec 3 (UNI) The leaders of Mahyuti, comprising of BJP, Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde group), NCP (Ajit Pawar group), which won the Maharashtra Assembly elections with a thumping majority, on Tuesday inspected the venue of the oath-taking ceremony at Azad Maidan in south Mumbai.
The swearing-in ceremony of the chief minister is scheduled to be held on December five (Thursday), which will likely be attended by Prime Minister Narendar Modi and other top BJP leaders.
State BJP president Chandrashekhar Bawankule accompanied by leaders of Shinde’s Shiv Sena Gulabrao Patil, Sanjay Shirsat and Ajit Pawar-led NCP’s Dhananjay Munde and Hassan Mushriff along with others visited Azad Maidan to discuss plans including logistics, seat capacity, crowd management among others.
Heavy police force has been deployed at the venue prior to the ceremony.
While talking to media, Bawankule said that all three parties were working together for the government formation and the alliance partners Shiv Sena and NCP were equally involved and helping them in preparations.
Later in the evening, a meeting between caretaker chief minister Eknath Shinde, BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis and NCP president Ajit Pawar will take place.
The meeting is being held to formalise the cabinet composition and issues related to power structure in the Mahayuti government, a senior functionary said.
