Pro-RSS police officer shot dead ATS chief Hemant Karkare: Congress leader

Kolhapur, May 5 (UNI) Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in Maharashtra Assembly, Vijay Vadettivar, on Sunday made a sensational allegation, claiming that a pro-RSS police officer gunned down former Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) chief and IPS officer Hemant Karkare and not Pakistani terrorist Ajmal Kasab.
Addressing a press conference here, he alleged that the bullet that hit Hemant Karkare was not fired from Kasab's gun but from the gun of pro-RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh), however, this evidence was hidden in court by then public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam.
The BJP gave a ticket to contest in this Lok Sabha election to such a lawyer, who is a 'traitor', he continued.
