Heavy rain and snowfall alert for northern states; cold wave to intensify: IMD

Pune Dec 6 (UNI) The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rainfall alert for Himachal Pradesh on December 6, 7, and 8. Since the onset of the monsoon, Kerala has been experiencing continuous rainfall, and IMD has again predicted heavy showers on these dates. A three-day heavy rain alert has also been issued for Uttarakhand and Jammu & Kashmir starting tomorrow. Along with heavy rain, snowfall has also been forecast for these regions. Due to this weather activity, a cold wave may intensify in the coming days, and sudden changes in weather may lead to health-related issues.
North India continues to face cold wave conditions, with Adampur in Punjab recording a minimum temperature of 2°C. Meanwhile, Honnavar recorded the highest temperature of 35.5°C in the past 24 hours. Different parts of the country are experiencing varied weather patterns- rain in some areas and severe cold in others. The IMD has warned of heavy rainfall in some regions and a cold wave in several northern states.
