Day temp above normal at isolated places over Saurashtra, Kutch, JK & Ladakh

Pune, Mar 22 (UNI) Day temperatures were appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at isolated places over Saurashtra, Kutch, Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, west Rajasthan, Konkan and Goa; above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at isolated places over Gujarat Region, Kerala and Mahe.
They were markedly below normal (-5.1°C or less) at most places over Jharkhand and Gangetic West Bengal; at many places over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura; at a few places over Assam, Meghalaya, Sub Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar and Odisha; appreciably below normal (-3.1°C to -5.0°C) at many places over east Uttar Pradesh; at isolated places over Arunachal Pradesh; below normal (-1.6°C to -3.0°C) at many places over Chhattisgarh, Telangana, east Madhya Pradesh, west Uttar Pradesh; at isolated places over Uttarakhand, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Punjab, west Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, north interior Karnataka, Rayalaseema, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam and near normal over rest parts of the country. Yesterday, the highest maximum temperature of 40.2°C was reported at Amreli (Saurashtra and Kutch) over the country.
Night temperatures markedly above normal (5.1°C or more) at isolated places over Punjab; appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at most places over Himachal Pradesh; at few places over Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad; at isolated place over west Rajasthan; above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at most places over coastal Karnataka; at many places over Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi; at a few places over Uttarakhand, Konkan and Goa, Kerala and Mahe and at isolated places over east Rajasthan, Madhya Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal.
