Bangladesh interim govt to further extend military's magistracy powers till 2026

Dhaka, Nov 11 (UNI) The interim government has once again extended magistracy powers for commissioned officers of the Army, Navy, and Air Force until February 28, 2026, effective from Nov 12, according to a notification issued by the Ministry of Public Administration.
Under the renewed order, commissioned officers of the Bangladesh Armed Forces holding the rank of captain or above will continue to serve as special executive magistrates across the country, reports BSS.
This extension would also apply to the serving army officers, who are working on deputation with the Coast Guard and the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), allowing them to exercise identical authority during the extended period.

Ex Bangladesh PM Khaleda Zia not stable enough to travel abroad for treatment

Dhaka, Dec 6 (UNI) Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairperson and two-time former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia's transfer abroad for advanced treatment has been delayed further, with her personal physician and BNP member Dr AZM Hossain stating that the flight will be greenlit once the medical board is confident that she is stable enough to travel.
