Bangladesh govt scraps plans to create music posts for PE teachers in primary schools, succumbing to pressure from Islamists

Dhaka, Nov 4 (UNI) The Bangladesh government has scrapped its plan to create posts for music and physical education (PE) teachers in government primary schools amid increasing pressure from Islamic organisations.
According to The Daily Star, the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education issued a revised gazette on Sunday, amending the Government Primary School Teachers Recruitment Rules 2025.
The new version omitted the proposed teaching positions for music and PE that had been included in the original gazette published on August 28.
