Austrian Chancellor speaks to Trump on energy

Vienna, Nov 26 (UNI) Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer said on Tuesday he has spoken with US President-elect Donald Trump over the phone and discussed energy and Austria's role in the international dialogue.
"Yesterday [Monday] I had a very friendly and forward-looking call with President-elect Donald Trump. I congratulated him on his resounding re-election victory, and we discussed key topics such as energy security, economic and defense cooperation, and Austria’s longstanding tradition as a venue for international dialogue," Nehammer said on X.
The Austrian chancellor added that amid global challenges both parties have confirmed their commitment to advancing peace, prosperity and freedom worldwide. He also said that he looks forward to deepening the ties between the US and Austria, and to strengthening their partnership throughout Trump's upcoming term in office.
