Nigerian national arrested in Mohali with 255 gms of cocaine, 10.25g MDMA, and ₹2 lakh drug money

Mohali, Sep 15 (UNI) In a significant crackdown under Punjab’s 'War Against Drugs' campaign, the Range Anti-Narcotics and Special Operation Cell, Rupnagar, arrested a Nigerian national, Augustine Okwudili, with 255 grams of cocaine, 10.25 grams of MDMA (an international drug), and ₹2 lakh in drug money. The operation, led by DIG Harcharan Singh Bhullar, followed a tip-off received on September 12, 2025.

Acting on intelligence, Inspector Sukhwinder Singh’s team raided GTB Colony, Kharar, apprehending Okwudili near Preet Karyana Store at 11:45 pm. A case was registered under Sections 21/61/85 of the NDPS Act at Kharar City Police Station. During interrogation, Okwudili failed to produce valid documents, leading to an additional charge under Section 14 of the Foreigners Act, 1946. A search of his scooter (PB-65-Y-7161) recovered the MDMA pills.
