Patna, Aug 9 (UNI) Concerned about the rising water level of the river Ganga in Bihar, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar directed the authorities to remain on high alert given the alarmingly increasing water level of the river.
After inspecting the stretch of the Ganga River all along Patna on Friday, Kumar asked the authorities to remain cautious, especially in the low-lying areas of the river Ganga. He also asked them to remain prepared to meet any eventuality.
Kumar, accompanied by Senior officers of the state reviewed the situation from JP Ganga's path to Kanganghat and inspected the preparedness of the administration.
He also took stock of the situation all along Kanganghat, Kalighat, Gandhighat, and Krishna Ghat. During the inspection the Chief Minister asked the officers to speedily complete the construction of the approach Road connecting JP Ganga path with Krishna Ghat.
