No private industry was part of Russia delegation: Ministry of Defence

New Delhi, December 16 (UNI) The Ministry of Defence on Tuesday rejected a media report alleging that private industry representatives held meetings with their Russian counterparts as part of an official government delegation that recently visited Russia. The Ministry dismissed the report as incorrect.
Stating that the report is baseless and factually incorrect, the Ministry in a statement issued here today said that the 23rd meeting of IRWG-MTC&DI took place in Moscow, Russia from October 25 to 29. The meeting was co-chaired by Secretary (Defence Production) Sanjeev Kumar and First Deputy Director of Federal Service for Military Technical Cooperation, Russia Andrey A Boytsov.
“The Indian Delegation comprised officials from Ministry of Defence (Department of Defence Production, Department of Defence & Tri-Services) and Defence Public Sector Undertakings (Armoured Vehicles Nigam Limited, Bharat Dynamics Limited, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, India Optel Limited, Advanced Weapons and Equipment India Limited, Goa Shipyard Limited, Munitions India Limited, Bharat Electronics Limited). No private industry was part of delegation,” the statement read.
