Northeast, east India to experience heavy rain during next 2 days

New Delhi, Jun 28 (UNI) India Meteorological Department on Sunday said that eastern end of Monsoon will cause heavy to very heavy rain in northeast and east India during next two days.
“A trough continue to persists along the foothills of Himalayas with convergence of strong southerly, south-westerly winds from Bay of Bengal over northeast and adjoining east India during next 48 hours and hence likely to cause widespread rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely over northeast and adjoining east India during next two days”, IMD said.
It has also predicted that isolated extremely heavy falls also very likely over Assam and Meghalaya during next 24 hours.
The weather bureau also said that a fairly widespread to widespread rainfall activity with isolated heavy to very heavy falls very likely along the west coast during next five days while fairly widespread rainfall activity with isolated heavy to very heavy falls also very likely over Madhya Pradesh and East Uttar Pradesh during next two days.
Scattered to fairly widespread rainfall is very likely over central India during next three-four days along with isolated heavy to very heavy falls also likely over the region on June 29 - 30, the IMD further said.
Reduction in rainfall activity over Western Himalayan Region and adjoining northwest India likely to continue during next three- four days, it added.
